AN INTRODUCTION
Callidai Motor Works is promoted by the third generation family members of Mr. K. R. Sundaram Iyer, founder of "Enfield India", the pioneers who brought Motorcycles into India. Callidai Motor Works (CMW) has embarked on yet another pioneering programme to empower the Physically Challenged and Senior Citizens. We are probably the only manufacturers & exporters of Powered and Special Wheel Chairs in India and have dedicated ourselves to provide Mobility Aids and Transfer Aids to the Physically Challenged in India. The company is a Physically Challenged Majority Organisation employing over 50% physically challenged persons.

OUR PRODUCTS
We have been working on our products such as Wheel Chairs and Mobility Aids for over three years now and have built and delivered hundreds of Special and Powered Wheel Chairs till date. It would be interesting to note that all the Wheel Chairs (Powered and Special) have been built to suit user requirements with respect to height, width and other features.

We have incorporated every conceivable feature on our wheel chairs. We have understood that wheel chairs should be tailor-made to incorporate features to suit the requirement of the User. This, while providing maximum comfort to the user would also help the attendant by way of minimised efforts, especially those related to Patient Transfers (example - bed to wheel chair and vice-versa).

Our Powered Wheel Chairs use the most popular "PG" Joysticks and it requires minimum effort to operate the wheel chair. We can also offer Feather touch switches for Joystick (as in television remote which requires hardly any effort). If a user feels he/she will be comfortable using his/her own existing wheel chair with our Motor kit, then we can make a motor frame that can be coupled with his/her wheel chair.

The Wheel Chairs that we have built include:
Commode Wheel chair, Bed Wheel chair, Wheel chair with reclining Backrest, Lift-up Footrest, adjustable Headrest, detachable Armrest, Footrest, up/down movement of Seat (Motorized), detachable Utility Table etc.
